The Lone Ranger

So this happened today...

She learned to ride her bike about 6 months ago.  But (big BUT) we had to hold on to the seat until she got started.  She would then peddle her way around the circle until she thought she was about to fall or just wanted to stop, and we would have to stop her.  A LOT of running for Mom and Dad.   And sometimes, she just pretended that she didn't remember how, so we would have to run behind her...for.ever.  So, when she told me that now that she was 5 and she could do it all by herself, I readily agreed.  It took her all of 2 minutes and a couple of tries.  She's got this!

And I was free to finally take some pictures.  Something that is almost impossible to do when you are chasing behind your subject.

Now, if we can just get Stinkerbell to peddle FORWARD, we should be all set for those family bike rides.

And little sis watched it all from the upstairs balcony...
Our last hurdle of the day?  We have Tachones.  Huge (huge) bumps in the road to slow the cars down before entering our round about.  They are perfect for those of us with little kids.  We don't have to worry to much about them playing outside the walls that surround all of our houses.  But they pose a bit of a risk to those who just learned to ride without fear...

Again.  She's got this.

Big day.  Big girl.  Where did the time go?

Just enough time for a quick refresher and a check of the boo-boo we got on our knee from the pedal (we tried to stop but forgot to stop pedaling)...

Tomorrow.  We do it all again.
