O Canada

After spending 3 days in Buffalo, exploring and attending a family wedding, it was time to head north of the border to Toronto.  We were heading up with the extended family so that we could say a proper goodbye to B's father and just revel in being together for just a while longer.  We are scattered to the four corner's of the world so having so many of us in the same room is a rare treat.  And a treat it was.

We laughed, we played, we drank, we feasted.  We celebrated a life well lived.  We talked, we sang and we took pictures (though I am sure it is a day we won't soon forget).

What fun it is to truly be friends with your family, not because you have to, but because you really, really want to!

The next day we did a bit of sight seeing in Toronto...

We had lunch at the market, played around a bit at the mall, saw some landmarks and walked pretty much the whole downtown area.  And did I mention it was about 100 degrees with 90% humidity?  We were one soggy bunch by the time we were done.

And then the rest of the family left.  It was just B's brother's family and ours.  A perfect time to relax and since it was my birthday, I chose to spend it relaxing at a huge outdoor pool about an hour away from home.  After the hustle and bustle of the past couple of days, I think that this was the perfect place to decompress.
I think the kids loved the idea of heading to the pool...

And the next two days were just as much fun - a trip to the African Lion Safari (my next post so I won't put a bunch of pictures here...) and Wine Tasting in Niagara on the Lake.  Just good old fashioned family time.  We don't get nearly enough of it with B's side of the family.

Hopefully we can remedy that in the future!

It was so hot that the casks that held the wine were sweating and popping their corks.
Just my size :0
Checking the color...of her apple juice.  Good vintage she assured me.
To cousins.  And getting together more often!
