Stinkerbell turned 4 on Friday. And we, of course, had to have a party to celebrate the occasion. My only problem was that we were going to be in Texas and planning a party from 6000 miles away is a bit difficult. And then I remembered that Schlitterbahn Water Park is only about 90 minutes from Nana and Grampa's house. Party location located! The park has consistently been rated in the top 3 of the world's best water park's. And I now understand why.
At over 70 acres and over 40 rides, the water park is more than just big. It's ginormous. We got there just after it opened and after applying sunscreen to everyone and setting up some decorations for the party, we hit the water. About 9 hours later, we were just getting out. Because they were closing. And we had only hit half of the park. I think we could have had another full day and we would still not have been able to do it all. We have vowed to come back and conquer it all the next time we are in town.
I wasn't able to take too many pictures. Water and my camera don't get along well. And I forgot my waterproof video camera at home (plugged in and charging so that I could take it along. Ugh). But what I do have pretty much captures the fun that these kids had. Yep, big kids too. Our day was one slippery slope after another. River rapids followed by slow, lazy tubing downstream. It was uphill water slides, and downhill tube rides. Some in the dark and some with special effects. All done with a bit of screaming and a lot of smiling.
Stinkerbell couldn't stop telling me about how much fun she had at her Puppy party. She had so much fun she wants to do it again next year. Who knows. Maybe we will.
First things first - we had to open two presents. Her new Minnie swimsuit for the park and her much anticipated Leap Pad2 for the car ride there.
Our cabana for the day. Since it was 109 degrees, we were very happy to have the shade. |
A Leap Pad and second helping of cake break.
Cousins - thick as thieves. |
